Course Policies

All fire service course material will be accessed through the eCerts Now Learning Management System (JBL) once enrolled. You will receive all login credentials via email within 24 hours of course enrollment.

Once enrolled in any course, you must ensure that you work consistently and diligently to complete the coursework and related requirements in order to successfully complete the course. These online courses allow you to pace yourself but will require sufficient self-discipline to keep up to date with the workload.
Courses must be completed within 30 days of the course enrollment date.
Therefore, it is your responsibility to set aside the time required to complete the various units of these courses. You will be held completely responsible for your own achievements once you purchase the course content.

In addition to enrolling in any of our courses, students will receive an e-book with their course.
If you would like to purchase a physical book, copy the required book's ISBN number for each course and paste it into a web search engine to find the best purchasing option for you. Books can also be purchased at your local technical bookstore.​
All payments will be processed through our website. Once payment is received, you will be granted access to the courses purchased within 24 hours via email. You will be emailed instructions on how to access your course.

COURSE POLICIES
This is a self-paced course. Students, however, are required to complete all assignments within 30 days from the first day of class, which begins the moment you access the course. The student’s final grade will be based on the assignments completed within the 30-day deadline. Assignments turned in after the deadline will not be accepted. If a student finds that they will be unable to meet the one-month deadline due to unforeseen circumstances, they must email Info@eCertsnow.com to request a course extension.
Students are required to be logged into the course purchased for the required amount of hours according to the syllabus; an additional number of hours will be given for time spent doing coursework outside of the online learning platform according to the syllabus. A time-tracking program will monitor every student’s total time logged on. Students are expected to be involved in the discussion boards, quizzes, and assignments according to the syllabus. Students can monitor their progress by viewing the timer located on the home page of the student portal. Students should contact the instructor with any questions or problems.
GRADES AND ASSIGNMENTS
​You are responsible for completing all assignments, papers, and group projects (if any) in order to receive full credit for the course. A passing grade is 70% or greater (considered a “C”) must be achieved. Points will be deducted for late or missing assignments and will affect your final grade. Your final grade must meet a minimum score of 70% (“C”) in order to pass our courses.

COURSE CONTENT AND DELIVERY
​The online courses consist of assignments that will cover information from each lesson, a group discussion board to which you must respond to at least two threads to receive credit, quizzes, a final exam, and a class project for some courses. The entire course is delivered online through our eCerts Now Learning Management System (LMS). Some blended courses will require in-person commitments to meet the course requirements. Be sure to fully review the course syllabus for the course you are enrolling in.

REQUIRED READING
Students are required to read any information provided and view the entire PowerPoint presentation for each assigned chapter. All assigned materials are to be read by the participating student. It is your sole responsibility to read all course material provided. If at any time you should have any questions, contact the instructor.

CODE OF CONDUCT
​Each student's code of conduct is expected to be exactly what it would be like in a regular classroom atmosphere. Communication on message boards, privately between students and groups, or with the instructor or guest instructors is expected to be professional and appropriate at all times. Each student is responsible for his or her own work and will be expelled if found to be sharing information or copying or sharing test information with a student of this course or of any other course taken via the online learning portal. Plagiarism and/or cheating is NOT tolerated. Discipline can range from a zero on a particular assignment to expulsion from the class with a grade of an F and no refund for the course purchased. Note that copying and pasting published information from any source, whether it's from your textbook or directly from the Internet, without citing your source is plagiarism, violates this policy, and will not be tolerated. Changing the words slightly is not acceptable, the ideas are still someone else's so you must cite your sources. No student has the right to interfere with the teaching/learning process, including the posting of inappropriate materials on the discussion boards. The instructor has the authority to ask a disruptive student to leave the classroom, lab, or web course if disruptive behavior continues. All academic policies are mandatory.
