FIRE OFFICER 1 Series

A Fire Officer 1 has the responsibilities of a Company Officer who supervises a single fire suppression unit or small administrative group within. The Fire Officer 1 Series is designed for firefighters who are looking to become Fire Service Lieutenants, Captains, or other Fire Department leadership positions. The series is based on NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Professional Qualifications.
The classes can be purchased as a bundle or as individual classes.
(*All all Fire Officer certifications also require completion of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Courage to Be Safe program. Fire Officers II and III also require ICS training, as noted below. These courses must be taken individually.)
The course materials come directly from the publisher Jones & Bartlett. All course material will be accessed through the JB Learning LMS once enrolled.
Once enrolled in any course, you must ensure that you work consistently and diligently to complete the coursework and related requirements in order to successfully complete the course. These distance learning courses allow you to pace yourself but will require sufficient self-discipline to keep up to date with the workload. Therefore, it is your responsibility to set aside the time required to complete the various units of these courses. You will be held completely responsible for your own achievements once you purchase the course content. The course must be completed within 30 days from the day the course is started.
In addition to enrolling in the Fire Officer 1 Series or any other course, e-Books are included with the courses. If you wish to purchase a physical book you must do so on your own.
If you would like to purchase a physical book, copy the required book's ISBN number for each course and paste it into a web search engine to find the best purchasing option for you. Books can also be purchased at your local technical bookstore.

This is a 45-hour, self-paced, online fire course that has continuous open enrollment. This course is part of the mandatory coursework required for Florida Fire Officer 1, Florida Fire Inspector 1, and Florida Fire Investigator 1. Completion of this course will ensure that you meet the Job Performance Requirements required by NFPA 1021 and NFPA 1031.

45 CEUs towards the Florida State Fire Inspector certificate renewal program will be earned after completion.

The curriculum in this portion of the fire prevention inspection certification program deals with building construction.

Topics include identifying hazards from assault by fire and gravity, how building construction can influence fire spread, fire confinement or structural collapse, and many other life safety issues.
